The Gunners are prepared to do a big-money deal for Viktor Gyokeres in January, and coach Mikel Arteta has confirmed that there is a serious search ongoing for a new striker.

Following injuries to some of their key players, they have carved a niche for attacking options in recent weeks.

With Bukayo Saka, Gabriel Jesus, and Ethan Nwaneri all out, the Gunners are badly lacking in second place.

Arteta intends to bring a new striker to the Arsenal camp while the winter transfer window is still open.

Reports claim that the Premier League club are unsure about paying the €100 million for Gyokeres, which happens to be a release clause in his contract.

He has scored 32 goals in 30 matches in all competitions for his team this season.

However, they mentioned Arteta is interested in Alexander Isak and Jonathan David, even though neither Newcastle United nor Lille is looking to sell any of their players this month.

However, what sets Gyokeres apart from the other two is that he has been granted an unequivocal release clause in his contract.

The 26-year-old has already publicly declared his greater aspirations to play for one of Europe’s elite sides. For Arsenal, this would therefore be an added opportunity.
