On Wednesday 14 may 2020 there were protests calling for removal of Governor Ann Waiguru in kirinyaga town.Those who participated alleged that waiguru has failed as a Governor citing stalled development projects in the county such as Kenya medical research institute (KEMRI) in kirinyaga.
