Effects of COVID19 on Sexual and Reproductive Health

By - - [General]

Since the beginning of COVID19 pandemic, there has been a decline in the number of people  visiting public and private hospitals, this is owed to the fear of contracting the disease. On matters Sexual and Reproductive health, unplanned pregnancies are likely to increase ,this is due to decreased access to Reproductive health services such as family planning services.

There has been a decline in the supply of condoms worldwide as production centers were shut down to curb the spread of corona virus, cases of sexually transmitted infections are also likely to increase as a result of condoms supply shortfall.

Most governments have shifted their focus to the COVID19,other health departments including  Reproductive health department  receive little resources for their daily running reducing the quality of services offered.
