ISAAC RUTTO is the founder and current Chama Cha Mashinani ( CCM ) party leader. The party has major influence in BOMET, the home county for the politician where he used the party to seek re-election as the area governor in the 2017 general election, but unfortunately, he lost the seat to the late Joyce Laboso who succumbed to cancer, mid 2019 (may her soul rest in eternal peace) and had vied on a Jubilee ticket. He is a known critic of the Deputy president, William Ruto. His latest move to join JUBILEE - KANU merger talk is politically deemed to be a big BLOW to William Ruto.

The leader never denied the recent claim that he visited state house after the announcement of jubilee-Kanu merger but rather affirmed that he did so following the invitation of H.E Uhuru Kenyatta. He further stated that there was nothing fishy about the meeting but rather the meeting was objective on how to create a ONE INCLUSIVE country and that he was ready to work with the president to help the country's economy recover after COVID-19. 

However, from the look of things, the political intrigues is percieved to be motivated by the call for 2022 political realignment which aim at ensuring GIDEON MOI gets the vote support from the region in his quest for presidency and deny William Ruto the massive political support he has, for a long time, enjoyed in the region if he happens to run for presidency.

William Ruto has in the recent past claimed to be a self made politician, which is true as far as the position he holds as the Deputy president of the republic of Kenya.

It will be a wait and see if this man from Sugoi will manage to maneuver through the raging political waters and restore his political glory in the region.
