Kenya bagged 129 votes out of an eligible 191 casted  ballots in the poll staged in the UN headquarters in New York to cross the required threshold of 128 votes or two third of votes.

Kenyai is now expected to enjoy an array of benefits accompanying the seat including being link for Africa in advocating for the continent's favourable policies and reforms and creating linkages between UN and AU on solving regional conflicts and attaining peace.
