Low turnout for Mass testing in Mombasa couty.

In his daily briefing Health CS Mutahi Kagwe stated that mass testing shall start in areas listed as hotspots. The County of Mombasa started it's mass testing but the low turnout hurts the mass testing initiative. Citizens in Mombasa Old town protested for fear that government has turned the mass testing initiative to an income gaining one.
Citizens who are diagnosed with Covid 19 will have to be quarantined at their own expense in the designated isolation centers. And poor families don't have the money to pay for the quarantine costs. Alocal gentleman who claimed to have a family of ten members feared to be tested since he has no money to foot the quarantine costs for all members in case he was found positive for Covid 19.
Unlike the Kenya Ports Authority where mass testing has begun, the lobby covers costs for staff diagnosed with Covid 19 together with their families and friends who might have been exposed.
The government of Kenya should come up with robust measures that will encourage people to get tested. Millions have been donated to help fight Covid 19. These funds are to cater for Mass testing, isolation costs and acquiring of medicine.
