Magufuli hits back at kenya after president Uhuru closes border

By - - [General]

Tanzania has reacted to the closure of its borders by a section of other East African countries including Kenya.

In a presser issued today, the country has banned any trucks carrying goods from leaving or entering its borders.

This comes a day after President Uhuru Kenyatta ordered no movement of people from or into Kenya using the Tanzanian border, except for cargo.

In a rejoinder, the John Magufuli led government now says that all business transactions will be carried out at the borders.

For anyone ferrying goods into Tanzania, the driver will stop at the border point, make the payments, offload the truck and head back to his country of origin.

Cargo meant to leave Tanzania will also be left at the border for the owner from the other countries, especially Kenya, to come collect it from there.

According to the communication, this will reduce interaction and limit the likelihood of people spreading coronavirus and at the same time ensure continuity of businesses.

This now poses a major challenge to business people in terms of organising logistics of ferrying their goods
