The extension of curfew and partial closure of most affected counties in Kenya is a good move

The extension of curfew day by another 21 days is good for Kenya. After the president of Kenya H.E Uhuru Kenyatta added another 21 days of curfew and partial closure of the most affected counties, citizens received the news with mixed reactions.

Those who were expecting the curfew and partial to be lifted were very disappointed, while those who wish to have the corona virus curve flatten were happy with the directive.

My opinion is that the curfew and partial closure should remain in force till that time when covid 19 is contained. The countries that have overcome the virus have taken drastic measures.  For instance, Australia had a  complete lockdown(no going out unless to food stores and health centers) for some weeks. The country is however a developed one that is able to take care of its citizens by offering them a standard pay while at home. The spread of the virus was completely controlled that today, there are no more new cases of the virus.

Kenya and other developing countries may use whatever is available for them to ensure the curve is flattened. And this is why I support the extension of the curfew and partial closure of the affected counties in Kenya.

However, it should not be lost to evry one that it is a personal responsibility to stay safe.
