Ushering a new year and new decade brought new hope to our country and the world at large . And speculations about the future were quite promising as everyone believed that our economy will thrive and the living conditions in the country will improve tremendously. With Kenya's Building Bridges Initiative (BBI) in picture so many people were certain that the government and opposition party will definitely change the face of the nation as they joined arms to eliminate poverty , eradicate disease and enhance literacy to accomplish Kenya's dream since independence. Locust invasion happened . But the government was able to curb the situation . 

While Kenya was trying to hold its own , China was in lockdown die to the increased death toll and infections brought by the new virus , Covid-19 . Which would later be decleard a pandemic by the World Health Organization in March . The origin of the deseas is allegedly Wuhan . With the virus so far away in Asia other countries continued with there day to day activities but this hope didn't last long as the first case of Covid-19 was reported in Rongai , Kenya. Schools were later closed and employees were ordered to work from home . Since the virus was fatal and had no vaccines or medicine whatsoever . 

Scientist continued to work endlessly as they search for Covid-19 vaccine . Becausevonly through this would the human race be salvaged from further death toll and worse still , extinction . Countries hardly hit by the pandemic include Italy with approximately 500 people dying daily . Other countries continued to remember them in prayer while others such as Somalia have sent aid . Everyone waits for a breakthrough . With schools and business closed the global economy be shook. But the question that remains is that is this natures ways to beckon people to protect it more and destroy it less ? And would the world remains silent as the poor and rich continue to die.
