Think Tank Group warns Raila against Forming Coalition Government With Uhuru

A Think Tank group formed by Raila Odinga to advise him on the prospects of a coalition with President Uhuru Kenyatta have warned him against such a move saying the burden of incumbency will severely hurt his 2022 Presidential bid.
The group whose members are James Orengo, ODM Secretary General Edwin Sifuna, Junet Mohammed, Prof. Herman Manyora, ODM CEO Oduor Ong’wen, Opiyo Wandayi, and John Mbadi who is the chairman of the group opines that Raila Odinga should stick with the current handshake arrangement as opposed to a formal coalition.The prospects of a coalition have also been complicated by the current NASA Coalition which Raila’s party entered with Wiper, ANC and Ford Kenya in the run up to 2017 election.
A draft report seen by Daily Star lists a a raft of five demands Raila Odinga should not cede if he is to enter into a coalition with President Uhuru.Raila’s camp has been unsually quiet amid the bickering in Jubilee, with Raila Odinga said to keeping his cards close to Wiliam Ruto should the handshake not go as they expect
Mbadi is reported to have told the Think Tank Group in one of its sittings last week that“If these people can totally disregard Ruto despite his contribution to that party, will they really respect our pact?”,
“Theirs was a pact of blood, ours is not a must, just a handshake” Mbadi wondered.
