Jamaican Prime Minister Andrew Holness recently announced in a congratulatory tweet that legendary runner Usain Bolt and wife Kasi Bennett had welcomed their first child.Holness tweeted: "Congratulations to our sprint legend Usain Bolt and Kasi Bennett on the arrival of their baby girl."
Bolt and Bennett hosted an extravagant gender reveal party in March which featured fireworks and a huge celebrity guest list, after which the world record holder for both 100m and 200m posted a social media video in which he announced: "I just did the reveal and I'm a girl dad."
The 33-year-old is the only man in history to win gold medals at three straight Olympics having achieved such feat in 2008, 2012 and 2016. He is also an 11-time world champion, however he retired right after the London world championships in 2017, following a lingering hamstring injury. He started dating his lady Bennet in 2014 but the couple only went public with their relationship in 2016. They also somehow managed to keep their pregnancy a private affair, only coming forth with the news in January 2020. Bolt, 33, has said in the past that he isn't sure whether he would push any future child of his towards athletics. "That's going to be hard for my kid," he said, via the Mail Online. If they want to do it, I'm fine with it. But initially I'm going to say don't do it, because I know the pressure that will come along with it."
Legit.ng earlier reported that sprint world record holder Usain Bolt has sent the social media space into haywire after making a hilarious post to caution his followers to maintain social distancing. The Jamican made a post which blew up the social media space drawing more than half a million likes and 90,000 retweets. It showed the Jamaican crossing the finish line at the Bird’s Nest stadium in a then-world record time of 9.69sec, glancing round from lane four as his despairing competitors trail two paces behind.
