1. Vet your friends/ contact list
It is very important to ensure that you are connected via social media to only people you know, are friends with, or can atleast trust
2. Be proactive
Post several warnings to your friends and followers that someone is impersonating you and immediately block his account
3. Get screenshots
Take screenshots of the imposter account and all related activities they may engage in
4. Send out a warning to all your contacts
Notify everyone you know or social media immediately about what is happening and that they must not interact with or respond to the imposter
5. Report the imposter as soon as possible through social media platform
