Why Raila Odinga is the FATHER of Democracy in Kenya

Raila Amolo odinga was born on January 7 1945.He went to Kisumu union primary the Maranda primary and later to Maranda school.He joined University of leipzig germany and Otto-von Guericke university magdeburg where he graduated.After 1982 revolution Raila was placed under house arrest for 7 months.He was later detained for six years without trial.during his detention Raila Amolo underwent so much beating and torture which was spearheaded by Josiah Kipkurui Rono,they strangled his neck,jumped on his chest and genitals and Rono even threatened to shoot him but it did not materialize.

He would stay in total dark room for over 18 hours a day.The room was cold and water logged.While in the torture chambers his mother died,he was informed about the news two months after the burial of his mother.Many of his relatives died but he was never informed.He was released on June 12 1989 only to be incarcerated on 5th july 1990.On june 1991 he was released and flew to norway for exile after several attempts of assassination by the goverment.He later came into kenya and because of his pressure and other liberators moi had to give into multi-partism hence earning him the name FATHER OF MODERN DEMOCRACY.In 2002 Raila Odinga endorsed Kibaki that led to Kibaki clinching power and becoming the 3rd president to lead the Republic of Kenya.
