Deputy President William Ruto has suffered a major blow in the ongoing Jubilee Party wars after his side lost the fight to stop fresh appointments to the powerful organ that will decide the party’s presidential flag-bearer. In what appears to be a costly miscalculation, Ruto’s faction can no longer file objections to changes in the National Management Committee (NMC) with the party after the lapse of a two-week window within which they would have done so.
