Real Madrid is surprisingly looking to acquire Alexander Arnold.
Real Madrid continue battling to genuinely announce the signing of Trent Alexander-Arnold from Liverpool. His current contract with Liverpool will end this season.
Under normal circumstances, Real Madrid would have gone for the player earlier because, after injuries to Dani Carvajal and Eder Militao, they require a reinforcement in that position. Unfortunately, Real Madrid has now given up on any chances of pulling this deal off during the winter transfer window.
The Telegraph reports indicates that Los Blancos will not spend on Alexander-Arnold in January and will prefer waiting until next summer to acquire him without a transfer fee. This would allow the 26-year-old player to sign a pre-contract agreement with other clubs starting from January 1.
Although Spanish reports claim Alexander-Arnold has no intention of renewing with Liverpool, conflicting reports based in England deny such claims. On Tuesday, it was reported that the player has yet to make any formal announcement.
