The long-awaited hearing of the case against Manchester City has concluded, according to reports emerging this evening.

The charges against Man City involve 115 cases, the most significant being the breach of financial regulations of the Premier League, but no ruling will be enforced until 2025.

The Daily Mail reported that the closing arguments of the case, which began on September 16 at the International Dispute Resolution Centre in London, were submitted to an independent panel on Friday for a decision.

City has strongly denied any wrongdoing, but they could face severe penalties if found guilty, including the possibility of being expelled from the Premier League.

In the previous season, Everton and Nottingham Forest were deducted points after being found guilty of breaching Premier League rules.

The English league teams were accused of violating financial regulations between 2009 and 2018, alongside facing 35 charges of failing to cooperate with the Premier League’s investigation committee.

Since Sheikh Mansour, a member of the ruling family of the United Arab Emirates, took over the club in 2008, Manchester City has become the most powerful team in English football, winning eight of the last 13 Premier League titles, and they have consecutively claimed the last four.
