Barcelona has been warned by La Liga that the club does not have any votes available to sign Dani Olmo and Pau Víctor.
The problem has emerged at the time when Spanish Sports Ministry (CSD) is expected to decide this week whether it can let these two players play in rest of the season.
That 100 million euros deal, ratified by the CSD in January to temporarily register Olmo and Víctor was scruitinized last week with La Liga questioning it.
La Liga has also warned it will sue the unnamed Barcelona accountant who certified that VIP seats for future seasons were sold at Spotify Camp Nou as well.
The aforementioned agreement was not mentioned in Barcelona’s financial report that it presented to La Liga this week which saw the budget of 2024/25 approved by a different auditor.
Another accountant confirmed this and added that the Barcelona submission for La Liga to approve the 2024/25 budget last week was not part of Barca’s financial calculations.
In a written statement, La Liga said: “The financial data shows that Barcelona would not be in a position to register Olmo and Víctor for the registration dates of 31 December, 2024 or 3 January, nor subsequent ones.
Barcelona have caused controversy recently when president Josep Maria Bartomeu declared his belief that €100m at least was needed to sign the world’s best players, while La Liga then informed Barca of their squad cost having reached €463 million by February.
